- How to find academic programs or universities in France?
Campus France has an official search tool you can check out using the link below. You can use filters to easily find academic programs in France that match what you're looking for.
All these degrees are official degrees recognized by the French government. If a French institution is not on this search engine, please contact Campus France Pakistan for guidance.
- How to check if the academic program is recognized in France and that HEC in Pakistan will provide an equivalency for this academic program?
You must check if the institution is listed on the UNESCO world-wide database (World Higher Education Database (WHED) Portal).

- Do French academic institutions provide English taught degrees?
Yes, the programs listed in the “Taught in English” catalogue are offered in English. Currently, there are over 1,600 English-taught programs available across the country.
- How to find a scholarship in France?
Campus Bourse is a helpful search tool that gather all the scholarships available to study in France. Just use the filters to find scholarships that fit your profile and goals.
- How to begin the admission application process in French academic institutions?
Once you’ve shortlisted academic programs from the English-taught catalogue, the next step is to check whether the institution accepts direct applications or requires you to apply through the EEF (Études en France) procedure. Do your research on the degree profile and university website to find the relevant information. Be careful, some institutions will require both an application through EEF and in parallel an application through their own system.
Please note: In both cases, students are required to register on the EEF platform. The EEF platform is an admission tool for universities, and also to platform to apply for your student visa (for higher education study of more than 3 months).
- When can I apply as an “I am applying” candidate?
Admission through the EEF Procedure “I am applying”: if you have to have to apply through EEF, you need to create an account on the EEF portal and apply from 1st October to 30th November.
- When can I apply as an “I am accepted” candidate?
Direct Admission Application “I am accepted”: if you apply directly to the French institution, once you have your final admission letter, you have to submit your application on EEF at least 60 days before the date of the academic intake, and not after the 30/08 for the Autumn intake, and not after the 30/12 for the winter intake.
Important: applications submitted after these dates will not be reviewed by Campus France Pakistan.
- Do I need to pay the application fee for EEF? How?
All students registering on the EEF platform are required to pay an application fee of Rs. 30,000. Once your application is received by Campus France Pakistan, you will be required to pay the EEF application fee of PKR 30,000. This fee must be paid to Alliance Française Karachi via bank transfer or bank deposit (account details will be sent to you through email once your application has been received) IN ONE WEEK AFTER BEING REQUESTED TO PAY.
- Please make sure the payment receipt mentions your full name as stated in your ID and your EEF applicant’s number.
- Make sure to declare your payment in section 5 (payment) in your profile on the EEF platform
- Beneficiaries of a scholarship from the French Government, HEC Pakistan and the European Union will be exempted
These fees are not refundable if you visa is refused or if you withdraw your application after validation by Campus France Pakistan.
For students holding scholarships from the French Government or the European Commission (Erasmus Mundus), you have to upload the scholarship certificate, and these fees will be removed.
- How many academic programs can I choose as an “I am applying” candidate?
As an “I am applying” candidate, students can select up to 7 master’s programs or 3 bachelor’s programs on the EeF list of programs.
- When will I know the outcome of my EEF application?
The Études en France platform features an automated response system that keeps students informed about the status of their applications via email.
IMPORTANT: Make sure you have a personal access to this email that will be used for all official communication concerning your EEF file.

- Which documents are required to be uploaded on the EEF platform?
A clear scanned copy of the following documents must be uploaded to the EEF platform:
- Photo
- Passport
- CV
- 10th grade mark sheet and certificate
- 12th grade / high school mark sheet and certificate
- Bachelor’s transcript and degree
- Professional certificates or experience letters
- English proficiency certificate
- Confirmed admission letter (for “I am accepted” students only)
- Can a student apply after a gap year?
Yes, you can still apply after taking a gap year. However, you should explain how you spent that time (such as working, researching, or building skills) in your application and provide evidence of your activities or employment.
- Can I work during my studies in France?
Students in France are allowed to work up to 964 hours per year, which is roughly about 20 hours per week during the academic year.
- Do I need to translate my academic documents into French?
Students are strongly advised to have their birth certificates translated after receiving their student visa, as this will be important for documentation when they arrive in France.
- Do I need to pay the EEF fee again if I change my program after visa refusal?
Students need to pay EEF fee again if S/he changes the program after visa refusal.
- Can I apply to the same program & university after visa refusal?
Upon visa refusal, students cannot apply for the same academic project in the same academic year.
- Which level should I apply (Master 1 or Master 2)?
The university will decide depending on their own academic requirements.
- Should we select a program on EeF marked by “Closed by Establishment”?
In this case, please reach out to the relevant university and inquire about the status of the specific program.
- Is my passport valid for submission of a student visa application?
The passport must be valid for at least 18 months from the start date of classes.
No other proof of identity will be accepted.
- I am accepted for a study program at the Bachelor or Master level in France, for more than 3 months. How to get a visa appointment at the Embassy of France in Islamabad?
Booking a student visa appointment involves two steps:
- Validating the EEF file and paying the application fee.
- Visiting AEG Travel Services to schedule an appointment.
IMPORTANT: Don’t wait for the last minute to secure your visa appointment. At certain periods of the year, only few slots are available. After submission at the embassy, it can take between 2 weeks and 2 months to have the visa result. Plan accordingly.
- Which documents are required to get a visa appointment from the AEG?
- Certificate of payment (To be obtained from EEF)
- Certificate of acceptance (To be obtained from EEF).
Both these documents are compulsory. If you get an appointment without these documents, your visa process once at the embassy will be refused.
- How to prepare the financial statement for the visa application process?
The purpose of the financial statement is to prove that you have sufficient funds to cover both tuition fees and living expenses for at least one year in France. If a student receives a scholarship that covers all or part of these costs, they can submit the scholarship documentation to demonstrate available funds.
IMPORTANT: If you arrive in France and do not have sufficient funds for your students, Campus France Pakistan and the French Embassy cannot provide supports.
- How much time does the visa application process take at the Embassy after I submit my passport?
The visa application process can take anywhere from two weeks up to two months to receive a decision. Nothing can be done to speed up the process.
- Do I need to visit the Embassy for the collection of my passport?
Students will collect their passports from the same AEG office where they booked their appointment.
- Do we get an NOC after the Campus France candidature interview?
Campus France Pakistan will not issue any NOC after the candidature interview. However, universities will begin notifying students about admission confirmation by the end of April/May.
- Is it possible to get admission solely for a language program?
Please review the specific program requirements for admission. If you meet the criteria listed on the program's website, you may apply for the language program in France. These programs will be eligible only if you have a proper study plan with a conditional admission for a degree in France after this initial language program.
